Chapter 14

Upon our return to the Dretsky estate, Cynthia informed us that the Ender King and Princess Tina had gladly accepted the invitation for dinner. Herobrine would be there too, but the servant who had located him as he patrolled the walls of Capitol City said that he was quite rude and seemed as though he might not enjoy the meal.

There were still several hours before dinner would be served, so we had to find something to do. Emma turned to Claire. “Is there any chance you could teach me the basics of astral projection?”

Claire raised an eyebrow. “Why would you want to know that?”

Emma heaved a sigh. “I just thought that maybe … I don’t know. If I could somehow talk to Rupert’s soul inside of John, maybe I could teach him astral projection too and we could meet and talk.”

I wanted to laugh out loud. But Emma was my friend and I knew that she was grasping at straws here.

Claire smiled. “Sure. Why don’t we go to my room and I’ll teach you what Raven Spirit taught me? Since Raven Spirit could do it, I guess you don’t need the gift of interdimensional travel.”

As the two girls walked off, I looked at Ansh who was standing nearby. “Can you show me where my new chorus fruit-themed room is? Not that I really want to stay in there, but I could use a nap.”

Ansh chuckled. “It’s not so bad. Everything is just mostly purple-colored. You’ll get used to it.”

“Great, it’ll be like a pack of endermen staring at me all night.”

Ansh guided me to my new room and took his leave. Inside the room I made sure that all my belongings had been transferred from my prior room before looking out the window. At the far corner of my view, I could just see the strange fountain-like structure several dozen blocks to the left. I wondered what was so interesting about it to the Rainbow Creeper. I supposed that I would find out in good time.

I lay down on the bed. It felt good to sleep on a perfectly horizontal and rigid bed with my blocky body. The soft beds of the world of the players were surprisingly uncomfortable, especially with a soft, squishy human body.

And so I drifted off to sleep.
